Karen Meade has worked with new and expectant families for the past 15 years. She is a pediatric registered nurse, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, a Lamaze-Certified Childbirth Educator, and a Child Passenger Safety Technician. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, a Master of Arts degree in English, and an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Nursing. She has experience working in various settings including public school classrooms, inpatient hospital units, pediatric residential facilities, and client homes as both a pediatric RN and childbirth educator/lactation consultant. She currently coordinates and/or teaches the perinatal classes and support groups held at the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery Women's Resource Center and works with breastfeeding mothers and their babies in the hospital at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. Her special interests include the use of mindfulness/meditation during pregnancy and labor, supporting breastfeeding infants with compromised sucking skills, and teaching prenatal yoga and infant massage classes.
