Gladys is the Coordinator of Lactation Services and oversees the inpatient and outpatient perinatal breastfeeding programs offered at NYULMC. She has worked at NYU Langone Medical Center for 15 years. During her time at NYULMC, she has served as the Assistant Nurse Manager on the Mother-Baby unit, Coordinator of Parent Education, and previously was on staff there. She has also served as Practice Nurse for NYULMC Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Gladys is a graduate of the NYU College of Nursing and holds a Master's degree in education from The American University. Gladys is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, who is familiar with working with patients in the inpatient setting as well as the outpatient setting. She currently serves as Chair of Continuing Education for Lamaze International and has presented nationally on the benefits of childbirth education and birth outcomes. As Coordinator for Outpatient Lactation Services, she works to offer comprehensive lactation education and support for new families, including employees at NYULMC. In addition, she is a 3rd year PhD candidate at the NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Her research interest focuses on the role of the expectant father in pregnancy outcomes.
